Soon, students who participate in multiple sports will have to make a choice if they want to transition from their season 1 sport to their season 2 sport. Many have already begun to decide to focus on those sports where they think they may have a better chance of seeing competition this year. The TOHS Athletic Department recommends that season 1 student-athletes who also participate in a season 2 sport begin to make the switch at the end of February if it appears that their season 1 sport will not have a competitive season. However, the decision to move from one team to the next will be left to each student-athlete and their family. A couple of things to keep in mind when making that decision:

  • Student-athletes and coaches who have participated with in-person workouts and choose to switch from one team to another team must quarantine for 10 days to reduce the risk of exposure between cohorts/PODS. This will become more common as season end dates approach, and if we do not reach the required tiers for teams to compete.
  • Students may not participate in two sports at once. While CIF has loosened their position on this matter, the health guidelines that govern CVUSD schools do not permit it.
